Amazon Announces End of AmazonSmile Program
Like many non-profit organizations, we had some disappointing news from Amazon. Over the years, we have benefited greatly from the AmazonSmile Foundation. It was a wonderful opportunity for GG, helping to bring in needed funds to pay our clients and keep our programs running. Unfortunately, Amazon announced they, "plan to wind down AmazonSmile by February 20, 2023. To help charities that have been a part of the AmazonSmile program with this transition, we will be providing them with a one-time donation equivalent to three months of what they earned in 2022 through the program, and they will also be able to accrue additional donations until the program officially closes in February. Once AmazonSmile closes, charities will still be able to seek support from Amazon customers by creating their own wish lists." We thank all of our amazing supporters who helped GG by selecting us as your charity of choice. We rejoiced every time we received our AmazonSmile funds and we appreciate all of you! While Amazon says they don't feel that this program made a big enough impact, we assure you that, especially for small non-profits like GG, it made a huge difference to us!
